Root Canal

Root canal therapy, also known as endodontic treatment, is the procedure of removing infected or dead tissue from your tooth. The space inside the hard layers of each tooth is called the root canal which is filled with soft dental pulp made up of nerves and blood vessels that help your tooth grow and develop.

When bacteria enter tooth through deep caries, cracks or defected fillings, the tooth can become abscessed, which may cause pain and/or swelling. Your dentist may notice the infection from on an x-ray and from other changes clinically. If left untreated, infected tooth can cause serious oral health issues.
